(written yesterday)

Revelation 1: Switzerland is cold. Yes, very cold. I am not used to this kind of cold, so I feel as though I might be dying. This is despite the fact that there is not even frost upon the ground yet. There IS plenty of snow in the mountains surrounding the city though, so I feel as though this somehow does something to support my arguments.

Revelation 2: I really must remember that I once again live in a place where things such as walk signals at traffic lights are not only present, but they function, and are expected to be obeyed. It’s been a long time since the only way across a street required the taking of one’s own life in one’s own hands. I do wish people weren’t so into following each and every rule here. I’m not good at such things.

Revelation 3: It is now day 4 of National Writing Month, and I have yet to write a word. Stupid things like moving halfway across the world have caused me to procrastinate. I must really get started tonight, jet lag or no jet lag.

Revelation 5: People keep assuming I speak German when I speak French. Have I somehow appropriated a German accent? I must investigate this more thoroughly.

Revelation 6: 9am to 6pm= a very long day when you’ve not had recent good sleep. I’m currently only about halfway through it.
